After more than 15 years of hosting the Green Economy Coalition (GEC), IIED has made the difficult decision to step down as host. This means that the search for a new GEC host (or co-hosts) is underway.

This is an exciting moment for organisations seeking to expand their reach and drive agendas with like-minded experts pushing for a greener, fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable economy.

What is the Opportunity?

The GEC is the world's largest coalition for a green economy.

What does a new GEC host inherit?

  • Diverse membership (75+ members around the world), engaged national hubs, and associated partnerships
  • Recognized brand and reputation
  • Proven thematic framework for a green economy
  • Knowledge and tools (Green Economy Tracker)
  • Fundraising tools, business development assets and systems
  • Green Economy Coalition website

In this slide deck you will find more information about the GEC, its mission, its members, and its impact to date. You will also find information about potential operational models and costs, as well as future strategic directions, building on the GEC's track record of success to date.

If your organisation is interested in learning more, we welcome a conversation to explore potential hosting models and approaches and to answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to send an email to gec@iied.org to explore further.
