REPOA was established in Tanzania in 1994 as the Research on Poverty Alleviation Programme, and has delivered over 25 years of dedication to capacity building and development research in Tanzania and the wider East African region. It's vision is to be the leading research institution in the region in the production and dissemination of knowledge that contributes to improving the lives of people by influencing socioeconomic policies, and its mission is to engage in policy research and dialogue that promotes socioeconomic transformation for inclusive development.
