Economic sectors including food, housing and transport, and their embedded energy needs, account for 63% of the global ecological footprint.
There are lots of new sustainable business models emerging around the world helping to transform these sectors. If they can be taken to scale the transition offers potential to build business value, create jobs and support more resilient communities. Investing 2% of GDP in green economies could create 9.6 million new jobs
And, green economic sectors in Denmark and California have proven to be more resilient to global economic shocks than traditional sectors.
